We treat dysarthria by first conducting a thorough assessment to identify the specific speech muscle weaknesses or coordination difficulties affecting the clarity, strength, and control of speech. Based on this evaluation, we develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving speech intelligibility and overall communication effectiveness. Our therapy includes exercises to strengthen and coordinate the muscles used for speech, such as the lips, tongue, and vocal cords, as well as techniques to improve breath support and voice quality. We also teach strategies to slow speech rate, improve articulation precision, and enhance vocal loudness. Additionally, we provide education and training for clients and caregivers on how to use compensatory communication methods when needed and how to create supportive communication environments. Our approach benefits individuals with dysarthria caused by stroke, neurological disorders, brain injury, or progressive diseases such as Parkinson’s.
