We treat aphasia by first performing a comprehensive assessment to identify the specific language impairments affecting speaking, understanding, reading, and writing. Based on these results, we create individualized treatment plans focused on improving communication abilities and enhancing functional language use. Our therapy includes exercises to rebuild language skills such as word retrieval, sentence formulation, comprehension, and conversational abilities. We also use strategies to support communication, like using gestures, writing, drawing, or technology aids to supplement spoken language. We work on improving social communication and provide practice in real-life situations to help clients regain independence. Additionally, we educate and train caregivers to support communication at home and encourage effective interaction. Our approach supports individuals with aphasia resulting from stroke, brain injury, or other neurological conditions.
